What is the name of your state? MA
Hello, It is nice to be here. I am going to be divorcing and have been the breadwinner in my house for my 8 yrs married. My husband was so far in debt and had no credit when we met. I helped him pay a lot of his bills and the rest he let go to collection. I asked him to file bankruptcy but he never did. I own my house because his credit was so bad I could only get a mortgage in my name alone. My question is, even though the deed and morgage are both in my name alone, will I still have to sell and split the proceeds with him? I'd like to stay in it, but I have no cash on hand to pay him out.
Confused about all of this.
Thank you!

MA
I owned a home and sold it, then bought the current one after I was married.
