What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?California. My half -brother died intestate. Myself and my two sisters are his only known family. The only complication to the probate process is the fact that his biological father and or half siblings from his father may be alive. He had not seen or heard from his father in over 50 years. The only evidence of his father that we have is a divorce decree from Alabama dated 1955. My question is, what constitutes a reasonable search for heirs in this case?
