What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

Hi, I feel I'm getting ready to run into a situation and I need good advice about it. A problem had occurred back in Feb. with a good friend of mine. She wanted to move out and switch schools and she's 18, and even then she was 18. The move and switch never happened due to people's jobs being threatened. Plus her mother and step father said as soon as she had a diploma from that particular high school she was attending... she could leave and do whatever she wanted. Now it is June and she is graduating in a week. The situation has surfaced again. Recently I have heard that her mother has been saying stuff behind her back saying she's not going to let her daughter go anywhere this summer, she's taking the car away and she will move her, herself into the college when the time comes. Now my friend is 18 graduating and has job offers here in Penn. She lives In virginia. Her mother is basicly being sneaky and going on her word. Is there anything I can do? I have considered talking to the cops about this and maybe even asking for a police escort. Please help.

why would YOU be asking for a police escort if this situation involves your "FRIEND"?

If you are 18, a recent graduate, and have job offers, here's my advice.

1. Pack your bags.
2. Search the net & newspapers and place a deposit on an apartment, or reserve a hotel.
3. Buy a bus ticket or hire a cab..
4. Call your local police, explain you are 18, leaving, and your mother may physically assault you - would he mind escorting you as you are leaving?
5. Just before shutting the door behind you, give a good ole' "Addio, fodero!"

You are 18. Your mother cannot stop you from leaving. Good Luck.

Your friend's Mother cares about your friend more than you ever could. Leave it alone. Her mother is doing the right thing.
