My husband is in the US Army, and is visiting on leave for ten days. He is trying to start the divorce process here. He is not a Montana resident, and according to state law, you must have a physical residence here for at least 180 days before you can file a petition of divorce. Is there some clause somewhere that makes an exception for soldiers on active duty, or will he be barred from petitioning for this divorce until he returns to the states again for long term?
