My dad died back in 1983 without a will. My mother never had the death probated. My father's land was given to him before my parents were married. My mother died last week and left a will, giving my brother almost all of the property. Now, my question is, since my dad died without a will, which made the estate intestate, and the law of Louisiana stating that if you die without a will, that the land goes to the heirs (my brother and I) and that my mother can live on the land until she dies, is her will valid in cutting me out of my land?
