I have someone who has semi threatened my business in an email and at the end say that they recommend I not forward it to anyone because it is against the law to break copyright laws unless you have express permission from the author of said email. This person has threatened to do damage to my business and reputation if I do not give her what she wants. I need to know where I stand on this. Is someone in fact able to copyright an email sent via the web?

Copyright law does not bar "fair use". Fair use can vary depending on the media, but forwarding an email would be considered fair use of that email.
