What is the name of your state? TX

My situation involves a dental malpractice case. Since the incident I have filed a grievance with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. It wasn't until very recent, Dr. X received information about this complaint and has now contacted me to "settle matters amicably".

My question: "Is $2000.00 unreasonable for the pain and suffering he caused"? The result from his negligence caused me to loose my permanent molar.

Here is the letter he wrote:

Voice mail message from Dr. X:


Hi Ms XXXXX, this is XXX. I just received notice that you have filed a complaint. I read your letter and have a good understanding of what is going on.

I was wondering if we could visit, preferably face to face to talk about this. I know your upset and I apologize for all the things that have happened.

I want to see what I can do to make you feel better. Please call me at xxx or my cell phone xxx.

I will be leaving tomorrow on a mission, please call me today if possible.
