What is the name of your state? Oklahoma
There is a group called the United States Corps of Chaplains that exists to help military families and to give the proper burial honors to veterans. Since the majority of the members are former military members it is organized in a military hierarchy with ranks and unit assignments made. Is there any portion of the UCMJ that would prevent a member of the armed forces from accepting a rank in this organization that is higher than the rank they hold in the military? There is a question as to whether an enlisted person could be charged with inpersonating an officer if they are assigned as an officer in the USCOC.
Thank you for any advice you can give.
