We would like to put up a split rail fence to keep our neighbor from continually mowing our property. How far does the fence have to be from the property line?

contact your city or county govt center to see what local zoning ords may be in place and if you find NO set back requirements for fences put it 1 to 2 inches inside ( to your side) of the lot line .
