What is the name of your state? California

I was on my way to Reno, NV from Ca and got about 3 miles from the Casino's and was pulled over for doing 92 on the freeway at about 11:30 at nite by Reno Highway Patrol. The cop issued my ticket and it has the bail amount set @ $155.00 and told me I could just mail it in being as I live out of the state. I called the Reno District court this morning to ask them about traffic school and the lady told me that I would have to appear at the court on the date of my appearance and request it through the judge only. She also said there were no guarantee's and that I would have to have not had any speeding violations within the last 3 years to get it??? My question is, Since I am from Ca can I pay the ticket by mail to Reno and request traffic school through the courts in Sacramento? They only have a 18 month period for traffic school in Sacramento and I would be allowed to take it here but I know I have had a speeding ticket in the last 3 years so there will be no way I can get it within the Reno Court. Also, the points in Reno are set at 2 for 27+ over 65mph speed limit but the violation here in Ca would only be 1 point. How do they transfer points over by state? Is it the points that you get by the state where you get your ticket or is it the points that the state where you are issued your Drivers License that go on your record??? Thanks in Advance for any help!!! :(

Points are assesed according to the laws of your home state.

Traffic school in Nevada is normally allowed only for drivers with a Nevada license but the judge has the option. Some Nevada courts will accept online traffic school. Check out your particular court at

Check out your record with the California DMV. It may be clear by now and you could take a copy to show the judge.

It is up to you whether to appear in court. Normally a court appearance will result in a lesser fine but will only help your driving record in California if they will allow the school and not report the ticket. I'm not sure that Nevada can do that.
