What is the name of your state? Michigan

My plan is to buy my own house and leave the marital home with my kids. Divorce action is not yet filed. Not being concerned with making money off of current home, is this a wise choice? Does anyone know what kind of headaches I may get by leaving with kids before filing? :confused: Spouse is aware of my plans to leave. Spouse and I are cordial at this point.
