We know someone who had an insurance Company take the quarterly insurance payment, then cancel the Insurance. Phone Calls to the Insurance Company indicated the motorist was Insured. However the next day, they were pulled over for uninsured motorist, and the Insurance Company would no longer speak to the Motorist on the phone. The motorist wound up paying Civil Penalty to Local County, plus hundreds of Dollars to get vehicle back on the road. However the Insurance Company Claimed there were Accidents occuring and was the reason client was dropped. No proof of any accidents were recieved by the Motorist or police reports reflecting these Accidents occured, but the motorist was being forced back into assigned risk. The Motorist Paid what he could to remain on the road until the situation was resolved, but the former Insurance Company would not cooperate any longer with the Client. When the Client was unable to keep Paying the HUGE insurance rates in assigned Risk any longer, he was pulled over for uninsured motorist the 2nd time, and was being told he had to pay more Money to the county and DMV. Meanwhile , the Insurance company finally came through with letter that Policy was originally canceled in error, but DMV had deleted the Previous records on the Computer because he paid the original Fines to get back on the road.

Its been about 6-7 years since a Warrant was issued for the Motorist to appear in court again. The Motorist had to move because he was broke with no Vehicle , no job or a place to live, yet we understand a Warrant Still exsists for the arrest. The motorist had also contacted NYS Dept of Insurance Board in Albany for help, but was given the deaf ear much in the Same way the insurance company had done. Also the Police who took the plates off the car never gave a Reciept. This motorist has not had an Accident payout since 1987. Any recommendations to the motorist other than suicide?
