Medical Malpractice In Another State

What is the name of your state? North Carolina

I have been told that I have a malpractice case against a hospital where I had surgery performed. I have since moved from the state where the hospital is. What I need to know is should I consult a lawyer in the state where I currently live (North Carolina) or in the state where the hospital is (Iowa). Thanks.
