What is the name of your state?maryland.
I recently got a speeding ticket on the new jersey turnpike for going 92 in a 65mph zone (so I was told). I was also issue a careless driving ticket. What I would like to know is would I get any points on my license and would this affect my insurance. This is my first ticket. I am thinking about showing up for the court date but the ticket did not say I have to. Please let me know if you think I shoud. Thank you.

A ticket is a signed promise to appear. If you do NOT show up, chances are a warrant will be issued for your arrest AND your license will be suspended.

Your call.

if it's a traffic violation as opposed to a crime you can just mail your check and forget about it

You might want to post on realpolice.net in the "Ask a Cop" forum. You'll get answers to your questions, but they won't sugar coat it and will probably rag on you a bit.
