What is the name of your state?this takes place in michigan. my wife's father passed away 2 1/2 years ago and a personal representative was appointed by the court as none of her siblings could agree on one of them to handle his small estate. the personal representative closed the estate in june and sent out the inheritance checks out. my wife and her siblings filed an objection to close with the courts due to the reps accounting doesn't add up with the records the were submitted. her question is can she cash the check or should she wait untill they go to court? she is afraid the rep may close the account out and she be stuck with a worthless check. also if she can cash the check would it be better for her not to untill after the court date?
