judge violating rights in NY family court?

Can a NY family court judge order a child to go to a specific doctor for testing? Our lawyer is ineffective at best. He waived our sons right to speedy sentencing without our ok and now the judge is ordering us to go to a doctor different than the one we chose for our son! Can she do this?
