My husband is employed in Massachusetts, he is permanent but probation until September. My husband has developed serious eye problems causing him to advise the company he will not be in on certain days, his specialists are about 50 miles from our home, 75 from his workplace and some appointments involve many tests and take a day. He returns to work as soon as he gets back from the hospital. The company supervisor is saying that my husband can't take this time away from work for medical appointments. Is this so  ? His sight is at risk here and now, so it seems, is his job. Can we do anything?
All comments are more than welcome. Many Thanks.

Key questions:

How long has he worked for the company?

How many employees does the company have at this location? Nationwide?
