I am a single mother of an eight year old. I have had sole custody ever since my son has been born. His father is very active in his life and we haven't really had any problems with visitation. My problem is that my son's father just told me he is going to take me to court for shared parenting. He stated that he feels he pays too much support. (Apparently he doesn't want to pay for his child and this is his easy way out). I am very upset about this. I am not really famaliar with shared parenting and/or court rulings on this subject. Please, someone, let me know where I stand and if I have a chance of fighting this.

You should seek the advice of an attorney in your area anyways, just to be safe. And maybe talk to the father and see what he really wants. He may have some trick up his sleeve, that you don't know about. Watch out, and cover all your bases.

Good luck
