THE PURPOSE OF VISITATION & CUSTODY ORDERS - NO PRIVATE AGREEMENTS

In the city where I am from, my X and I have made written agreements and followed them for almost 6 months when we started to have problems, and the police were called in, the police went by our agreement, because we both signed it. There was no Judge's stamp or signature, nor a mediator's signature.

But I do agree that all agreements should go thru the Court System.

And thank you for that bit of info.

I forgot to add that the agreements were before we ever went to court, after court, they are now included in a visitation plan and signed by a Judge.
