What is the name of your state? VA

A friend invested in a band. Purchased all of their equipment under the band's account and paid in cash. Unfortunately the friendship went sour amd my friend is seeking to get back the property. The problem is none of the purchases were made by check or credit card....and the receipts for the items don't list his name only the band's name and even worse most are lost. Is there any way to claim the property back in court?

Not unless the band acknowledges he bought the equipment. I doubt that will happen. He can try in small claims since anyone can sue, but I suspect he would be wasting more money.
