Yes. A company can suspend you with or without notice after 13 days, 13 weeks, 13 years or 30 years. Nothing whatsoever in the law requires that they give you a verbal or written warning beforehand unless you have a CONTRACT (not a company handbook, a CONTRACT) that says otherwise.

Whether it is fair or not, or appropriate or not, depends on the specific situation. But it is legal.
