I have a situation I'm not sure how to handle. A few days ago, we had a cook-out at our house. One of the guests, horsing around, tripped and fell into the side of my car, which was parked in our driveway. The area is flat and stone-covered. The guest hit his tooth on the window (cracking the window and his tooth) and damaged two panels on my car. He and some other guests decided that they would chip in for the damages, until they found out the cost is going to be $1400 to fix my car. Now, I'm afraid that I will have to submit my claim to my insurance company and pay a $500 deductible. Would I get reimbursed if my insurance company subrogates against the guest? Can my insurance rates be raised, or could I even be dropped because of the claim (I had one accident 3 years ago). Could he try and sue me even though he was being a jackass?
