What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? PA
In regards to residential setback requirements, what designates the Front, Back and side setback? Would it be the way the lot is positioned in regards to the street? Or would it be based on the way the actual house is positioned on the lot? We went to our township and they could not answer this question, the code is not very specific. Thanks.

It ususally goes by the streets and boundaries of your surrounding neighbors. But I find that very odd the township doesn't know. Do they have a zoning committee? Or maybe the county is the one that oversees it.

But I have never heard of setbacks going according to the way the house is positioned. Only that the house meets the required setbacks.
