I worked for an indian casino in California. I gave my two weeks notice, but was told not to come in no more the next day. My question is, because I worked for a Casino, I have nearly 80 hours of vacation time left and it's been over two weeks now and I haven't got paid for it. Before that, I gave my two weeks, but was let go early. Are they required to pay the two weeks that I was willing to work, but was let go early for?

Are they required to pay the two weeks that I was willing to work, but was let go early for? No, they're not. But they are required to pay you for your unused vacation time. If you don't receive a check for that shortly, contact CA's Department of Labor and file a complaint.

P.S. You might be eligible for unemployment benefits for the notice period they didn't allow you to work.

Caveat: Beth's response would be correct if you were working for just about any other private employer. But Indian casinos are exempt from a great many state and Federal employment laws as Indian land is considered a sovereign nation.

By all means contact the DOL, but you need to find out first whether or not the law regarding the payout of vacation applies when you're working at an Indian casino.
