I ordered 2 c.d.'s that were posted as "in stock" off of a web-site on
June 23. Every day after that I'd check up on my e-mail to see if they
had been shipped yet. ( the approximate shipping date was 24hrs ) To
my surprise after the first week I still hadn't heard anything from the
site. Soon after I finally received an e-mail. Again, not what I had
hoped for. It was an e-mail asking for me to approve a delay with the
items. After a couple months I was really sick and tired of the delays.
I couldn't understand why it would take so long to wrap two c.d.'s in
cardboard and ship them. So I contacted the site and informed them of
the problem. I got a very nice response apologizing for the
inconvenience, giving me a ten dollar gift certificate and best of all,
reminding me that "they had obtained both of the c.d.'s and were
planning on shipping them on the expected date". ( this was in
September ) I was finally happy until an unexpected e-mail from the
same site told me that I had to approve yet another delay! I e-mailed
them regarding the issue and they told me that the items couldn't be
obtained from the manufacturer! So they had to have lied! I'm asking
if there are any laws against what they did, lying directly to
consumers. This has caused extreme frustration on my part which they
"are sincerely apologetic for" but they refuse to clear up the lie.
Please help me out.
