our local mayor

What is the name of your state? i live in Louisiana. Our small town is calling a mayorial election, due to the fact our local town mayor cursed a person that ran him over in his private vehicle. is there a law that says he can't use his freedom of speech even if he holds a public offic?

You have to be kidding me right?

You want to hold an election just because they cursed at someone? It happens we are all human and loose our temper.

By law, no you can not hold and election and impeech him just for this.
