What is the name of your state?I live in Silicon Valley, California.

After 2 weeks, I will get some work done on my roof:
a. Fix some leaks.
b. Replace tiles in several places.
c. Install four 10 inch (diameter) skylights.
d. Install solar panels.

I share one wall with my neighbor.
I have a 2 story house.
My neighbor has a 1 story house.
My roof is much larger than my neighbor's roof.
Our roofs are joined at the garage level for about 10 feet.
The neighbor's roof stops there.
My roof extends much higher because of the second story.
My roof is also wider because I have more square footage in my house.

I was told a few years ago that I should get some kind of
document signed by the neighbor saying that he/she has
no objections/issues with this roofing work. The
city and county do not have any such requirements
and they do not have any samples that I can use.
My neighbor has given the verbal OK and has agreed
to sign such documents.

So now the questions:
1. Where can I find such a "No Objection" document?
2. Is anything available online?

Please advice.

**A: are you in a condo, duplex or ? What is the legal definition of the building? Are there CC&R's or deed restrictions?

No, it is not a condo.
We have what is called a "zero lot line".
This was a planned development.
I understand that there are CC&Rs.

FYI:
I have approached the city for permits to do all the above work.
They needed some detailed detailed plans.
I provided them with detailed plans.
I have spoken to the building and planning officials in the city.
They anticipate giving me the permit(s) in 1 week.
They don't see any issues or problems here.

Hace you reviewed all the CC&R docs to be sure that your plan also complies eith thoses? Is there a HOA?

There is no HOA.

The city building and planning folks did review the CC&R with me
and they had 3 minor conditions that I had to satisfy.
