What is the name of your state? georgia
Was he a sole practitioner (one man office) or a member of a firm???
If a firm, another attorney will be assigned to his case load. If a sole, then another attorney will likely step in and take over his practice or you can take your case elsewhere.

My response:

My clients would have my cold, dead, corpse continue with their cases.

If your attorney is a sole practitioner, you become a "creditor" of his Estate and need to make a "Creditor's Claim".

In the meantime, the State Bar will take your file and give it to you so that you can look for a new attorney.
