What is the name of your state?

arkansas

Can your mother stop you from putting your child's daddy's name on the birth certificate even if he is 8 years older then you are and you are only 16 Please help me. How hard would it be for you to change that.

Your mother has NO SAY in this matter. Put the father's name on the birth certificate and if mommy dearest interfers, call the police and have her escorted from the hospital.

Good answer Belize. One other thing....has anyone noticed....add the ages 16 + 8 = 24 equals statutory rape.......
Just a thought.

If you are not married to the father you can't put his name on the certificate at all. You have to file an aknowledgement of paternity after the baby is born.

That's state-specific, sweetheart. Some states DO allow you to put Dad's name on the BC regardless of marital status. Some states don't. Do you know which Arkansas is?

LOL. Yes, because I had my daughter in Arkansas and was unmarried at the time.
I try not to open my mouth unless I am 98% sure of the answer. :)
