What is the name of your state? michigan. bought home in 1985. 40' wide lot on lake. neighbors carport (no building permit on record) 3' onto my property. carport 2' from my house. rainwater sheds to my sidewall of house. do not speak with neighbors. what course of action can i take to remove carport?

Send them a Certified (RRR) letter demanding they remove the structure within the next 30 days or you will take legal measures to have it removed.

Now, why did it take you 24 years to let it bother you?

what legal measures can i take after i send the letter? what does (RRR) stand for? 19 years (bad enough though)
