Friends, to step into the murky world of music copyright for a moment - scenario is as follows:

Our little cousin wants a CD for her birthday. To expedite it to her, we download the album from (legal) online music store and pay for it. We burn a CD. We then delete the original downloaded files to steer clear of any "sharing" issues. We send the CD to her overnight for her to enjoy.

Have we violated any laws? If so, what could the penalties be?

Thanks in advance.

Are you the type of person that accidently throws a soda can in the garbage instead of the recycle bin, and then worries about the swat team crashing thru your door?
