What is the name of your state?Florida
The divorce is in Florida, but the couple owns real estate in another state. Does the quit claim form for the wife to sign over the rights for the property in the other state have to be with the Florida quit claim form or one from the other state - for it to be legal and recordable (or does it make any difference)?

The deed must be in a format that is acceptable to the Register of Deeds office in that county. There is also in many places a Transfer Form which must be completed and accompany any deed presented for recording. In many cases, a deed from your own state MAY be acceptable. You might contact the RODs office in that county and determine what they require on a QC deed.

I hope that whomever is Quit-Claiming is also making sure they get their name OFF the mortgage via a refinance.
