A man in our office was recently served with divorce papers. His wife and he had verbally agreed on certain items however, when he received the divorce papers she is suing for "everything under the sun". He has heard this is normal and you negotiate from there. Is that true? Others have said it is not normal and that the fact that she filed first may make an "impression" on the decisions. Is this true? He was served by Greene County Supreme Court, does this mean they HAVE to go to court or can they still negotiate just through their lawyers and only go to court for the signings? Sorry so many questions... any help will be great thank you!
