What is the name of your state?IL
My boyfriend signed a prenup basically saying that what ever debt/asset one person owned, was theirs. What this has done was say that the house, which was in the ex's name only, is hers, even though he paid towards the mortgage & built the house.

Question is, since the prenup says each person's debt is theirs, and the house was in her name only, can he recoup any of the money he put towards the house?

While prenups can be broken, he agreed to make no claim against the house when he signed the prenup. He would need to get a consult with a local attorney, with his copy of the prenup in hand.

And BF forgets that he would have had to spend money to live somewhere else. So it's not as though all the money he spent toward a roof over his head didn't provide him one. He AGREED before the marriage..
