Our neighbors contracted a company to cut down their trees. As this company cut down trees, one of the trees fell straight into our guest house that sits on the back of the property. The owner of the company told us that they do not have insurance but that he would find the people to fix the house and pay for it.

Should we contact our insurance? Since our neighbor contracted this company, is their insurance accountable? Our concern is that this owner will hire cheap service and our guest home will not be properly repaired. Can we take legal action against the tree company?

Make a claim on your homeowner's insurance. They will deal with the neighbor's insurance company and the owner of the tree service.
