What is the name of your state? NJ
I am interested in finding out if it is a conflict of interest as a police officer to start a private company using narcotics detection dogs for companies. Obviously I would be acting in a civilian manner and strictly off-duty and outside of my county of employement. Would I be legally obligated to act if the dog "hit" on something? The protocol would be to alert a supervisor of the company that my canine indicated. I would have no hands on interation and would not be conducting a search.
