I'm From North Carolina. Last Year I Had Just Gotten Out Of The Military Working As A Logistic Specialist. The Company I Work At Now. Is A Branch Of A Corporation That Owns Multiple Businesses. A Couple Of Months After I Was Hired, I Was Told By My Boss To Look For Another Copy Machine. Well Ironically A Network Company(that's Actually Their Name) Came By Saying His Company Had A Bargain On Copy Machines. My Boss And I Explained To Him We Wanted Only Month To Month Basic Rental. No Purchases! Anthing Else Besides Month To Month Had To Go Through Corporate.so The Rep Said Fine He'll Just Set Us Up With A Demo For Right Then. I Liked The Demo. He Came Back With A Female Co-worker And Said Todays The Last Day For The Promotion And He Had Just Got Someone Else In The Business Park. Long Story Short, I Signed An Contract...and I Confess I Did Not Read The Fine Print.. And Come To Find Out I Had Signed And Unconditionally Personal Guaranty To A Third Party Finance Company For 5 Year! My Boss Did Not Find Out Until Later. And Our Parent Company Does Not Know At All. When Tried To Get Out Of This A Week After The New Ordered Equipment Came In(the Demo Was Still There). I Tried To Refuse It But The Techs Proceeded In Setting The Equipment Up. The Finance Company Had Already Paid The Middle-man. And Of Course They Don't Want To Give The Money Back And Lose A Sell. We've Been Going Back And Forth Between The Finance Company And Middle-man. They Just Keep Pointing Fingers At Each Other Saying It's Up To The Other What Could Be Done. And When We Finally Did Get The Boss Of The Sales Rep, He Said He Would Have The Contract Done Over Or Void It And He Would Talk To Finance Company. Well The Finance Company Started Calling Us For None Payment. Come To Find Out The Network Company Never Called Them To Let Them Know What's Going On. The Finance Company Is Threating To Take The Corporate To Court And Myself. I Don't Mind Myself Because I Don't Have Damn Thing Anyway, I Don't Want Them To Take Corporate To Court. Call A Lawyer, He Said It's Not Binding Because I Was Never Authorized To Sign A Contract On Behalf Of The Company In The First Place And It Was A High Pressured Sale.
Please Someone Help Me Understand This. I've Never Dealt With Contarcts Before. I Don't Know If I Should Be Worried Or Not.can Someone Explained Things To Me.

A lot depends on the wording of the contract and HOW you signed and in what capacity. From your post you signed as an individual which would make you wholly responsible for the cost of the lease period.

I would strongly suggest you have the corporate attorney (or a business attorney) look over the contract and see if your company has any liability first. Once you know that answer then you'll know how to proceed.
