What is the name of your state?hawaii, my friend came here to hawaii to get off drugs and was successful for 6 weeks at which time she returned to california to close her apt. and move back to hawaii. during the 5 days in california she was arrested for being under the influance of a controlled substance (meth). she returned to hawaii and has stayed clean. she has returned to california to go to court for her misdomenor offense and is being sentenced to prop 36. is there any way she can come back to hawaii where her chance at recovery is so very strong?

Don't you find it strange that she is only clean in Hawaii? Let her go through her rehab and be lucky she is not in jail, she could have gotten alot worse.

Not without the permission of the court..... and the state of Hawaii which would be responsible for her recovery and monitoring.

Prop 36 mandates that first and second time nonviolent drug offenders be sentenced to county-supervised drug treatment programs instead of jails and prisons. As such, her best bet is to allow her to complete her treatment in California, then have YOU meet her at the doors to the treatment center on her 'graduation' and IMMEDIATELY take her with you to Hawaii.

That way, when she gets arrested again (as she probably will), then any legal processes she gets will be in your preferred location.
