What is the name of your state? Connecticut

I have been a member of a Volenteer Fire Dist for over twenty years. I am now trying to get my retirement benefits and one of the fire commissioners who does not like me is saying that I will not get mine. He states this is punnishment for something that happened ten years ago! Is this legal? Does he have the right to deny my benefits? What can I do?

What you need to do is to speak with the person who administers the retirement plan for the fire department volunteers for the District. The retirement Plan Document will govern who is eligible for benefits and how the Plan works. Even without seeing the document, I can tell you that it won't include language that says benefits can be denied because a a fire commissioner doesn't like someone.
