What is the name of your state? Michigan

I got an MIP about a week ago and im wondering what i should plead. Ive never gotten in trouble with the law, im 18 years old. I dont want to go on probation and i dont want to take the MIP classes. Ive had friends that have gotten MIPs and they have pleaded not guilty and received a lesser punishment then some that pleaded guilty. I was told to plead not guilty and then talk to the prosecuter and more times then less, they will lower the charge to a health code violation and i wont have to be on probation or take classes.

i live in michigan and i have tons of college friends who have MIPs. You are stressing out man. relax. What happens is you go into the court and they call out your name. You stand up and the judge rattles off some bull**** and ask you if you understand the charges and has you admit you were intoxicated. Then you get fined. Im not sure if it is a state wide regukated issue or county to county. But up at Ferris State University, like 20 people i know just had to pay a 215$ fine.....no probation.. no rehab programs. All this is considering it is your first offense. Im far from a lawyer but i hope this helps..
