I just know a friend who has been working for the school district for almost ten years. However, he just told me that actually he is a foriegner without any working permit or visa. The only reason why he is hired because his social security card didn't say a "working permit is needed" (his card should have said "work permit is needed") . At that time, no green card is needed for him to be hired.

Now he is going to marry to a green card holder but he is worried that once the INS finds out his past (working), he will be expelled from the U.S.

Now what should he do? Quit his job? Or pretend that he didn't know that a greencard or visa is needed since his SS card says that he can work (if he has to go to the court one day)?
