What is the name of your state? California
There is a new law in California that requires all phlebotmists to be licensed to work. This law changes our job requirements for current phlebotomists as well as new phlebotomists. Our current employees have an alotted amount of time to obtain this license since they are grandfathered in, but new employees must have this license prior to employment. If a current employee does not obtain or refuses to obtain the license by the due date, it is ok to terminate him or her? If the employee states that they cannot afford the fee for the new requirement for the job, do we need to pay for it, or can we deduct the fee from their salary, or is it solely their responsibility?
