A dear Canadian friend of mine is in process of obtaining permission to immigrate to the U.S. to marry her U.S. citizen fiance. She informs me that she requires a "sponsor" to become legally liable for her healthcare, etc. for some extended period of time. She is not very clear about this information, and I know nothing at all about it. Can someone tell me, does she require a "sponsor", and if so, what does the "sponsor" become liable for? Thanks very very much.

Yes your friend requires a sponcer and that sponcer is responsible for everything
until your friend gets a perminate resident Status or gets a US citizenship .
That's the law.
