An F1 student is enrolled in a full time program at an INS approved school. This student has been carrying a 25 credit hour course load, has been recieving highmarks (3.5 GPA), and has been making steady progress towards graduation.

This student also attended several classes at another institution during this same time period. When the student registered for classes at the second institution he informed them that he is a foreign national, he is legally in the US on F1 visa, he is a full time student at another institution, and that the course work at the second institution was not necessary to maintain his obligation, with respect to the VISA, of being a full time student.

I have several questions about this scenario and would appreciate your thopughts on this subject.

1. Does attendance of classes at the second institution cause the student to be out of status?

2. Does attendance of classes at the second institution in any way affect the first instution's obligations to the INS with respect to the student's visa?

3. Does attendance of classes at the second institution in any way obligate the second institution to the INS with regard to the student's visa?

4. Does attendance of classes at the second institution in any way affect the student's obligations to the INS with regard to the student's visa?
