With a vacation planned for parts of British Columbia, I realize that my son's permanent alien card is in a safe place where it will not be found. The boy was a toddler when he received his residency status. He is now fourteen years old. The picture and card were outdated, obviously. With only two weeks until planned departure, is there a hope of securing a replacement? What should the speediest route be? Hoping for Help!

Call the INS via the help line number.. it is on their webpage somewhere.. wait approx 45 minutes and then ask them...

You can also dig down into the site and get the appropriate form for replacement. It will have instructions on how to use the form and where to file it !. Obviously any application will need to be done at the local INS office cos if you send it to one of the 4 service centers it will not see the light of day for months...

Failing all of the above.. just go to the local INS office, stand in line for 16 hours and look desperate !

Good luck...
