What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas

Received a speeding ticket for going 22 miles over the speed limit. Have not had a speeding ticket in over 8 years prior to this one. I am going to the court on 1/7/05 and do not know if I should ask the judge if I can do defensive driving or deferred adjudication (sp?) I know that in Texas, you no longer have to have a lawyer to do the deferred adjudication so that would save me on lawyer fees.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you
