dismissing a ticket

I received a ticket on January 9th at 12 pm for a expired inspection. The inspection expired on 12/28/04 . When I observed the ticket I noticed that the officer made a obvious mistake. The date on the ticket was 12/9/2005. Since the date has not yet occured, can the ticket be faught?
