late fees on rent

i have rented my apartment for 11 mths .have always paid on time i had my date off by one day the day after rent was due recieved notice to py 50.00 late fee senta note aploligizing and a ck for full rent (minus 50.00 late fee)the ladlord lft a message saying cant py with ck and cant remove fee what are my rights as a good tenant?

Your rights depend on exactly what the lease says. My guess is that you and she are not getting along anyway, and she thinks you are not a good tenant.
