What is the name of your state? Texas

I applied for social security survivor benefits in Illinois, after my daughters father passed. I was denied because he had 5 and three fourths working credits and needed six. I desperately need assistance for child care etc. and can't get any help. Is there any other alternatives like maybe recieving benefits for a shorter period of time. Is there any way you can help?
