A light bulb cover fell from the landlord's ceiling fan and broke my glass-top table. The ceiling fan had not been touched since I moved in 7 months ago so I'm sure nothing I did caused it to fall. Although I have no evidence and hadn't noticed anything unusual about the ceiling fan or the fixture before it fell (no strange noises, etc.), it seems to me it probably wasn't attached properly. Who is responsible for repair/replacement of the table?
